About this Blog

I started this blog on December 31, 2008. After initially being hesitant of the Microstock market, I decided to test the waters. So far I’ve had mixed results and a very sharp learning curve. It seems clear to me that this is an industry which can make stars, or just help people to upgrade their equipment. I’m sure it’s also made a lot of people wonder, why they ever bothered in the first place. I currently don’t know which one of these categories I’ll end up in, but for now I’m enjoying it, I think.

If you are thinking of entering the Microstock industry, you should not underestimate the amount of work involved. You also have to be thick skinned, as no matter how good you think your images are, the reviewers for whatever reasons may well disagree.

I started this blog, to record, comment on and even rant about my experiences in the industry. At times it is frustrating to say the least. I also comment on the microstock industry in general, which is constantly changing and growing. I’m not claiming to be an expert in this field, I find however, that there always seems to be something to blog about.

I hope that you find the posts humorous (I try my best) and insightful. Feel free to add your comments, queries, tricks of the trade, success stories as well as your Microstock gripes and grumbles.
